Broughton has built a reputation over the past 10 years as a leading post-16 residential place of education and care for young people with autism and severe learning disabilities, often accompanied by complex needs and challenging behaviours. Admission can take place at any time during the school year.

In addition, Broughton has 150 staff providing specialist education and care for up to 29 young people, aged 16 to 30 years. The goal for most of our young people is to return to their local community in supported living.

Broughton draws upon a proven programme of Specialist Education, Specialist 24-hour Care and a wide range of Clinical and Therapeutic Inputs, including Speech & Language Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry and Psychology. Multi-disciplinary teams and high staff ratios ensure intensive individual support. During the programme, young people move within Broughton to progressively more independent living facilities. These planned moves reinforce behavioural improvements and life skills in new settings, leading to the goal of returning to their local community.

A Parent Liaison Officer is available to discuss, in confidence, a young person’s specific needs and we are delighted to help with any questions or to arrange a visit to Broughton. Please call 0800 288 9779.
